Since I’m not the hugest Queens fan, I asked my husband Adam, to be a guest writer on this review. Here are his thoughts!
After many failed attempts to see my favorite band, I finally got a chance to see them two nights ago at the Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee. Unfortunately, due to the show in Chi being sold out, we had to make the trip and hey, who doesn’t like an excuse to leave town, right?
Anyways, my wife and I arrived just before the band hit the stage. The crowd was buzzing the minute we got to our upper level seats. Speaking of buzzing, the weed was flowing along with the beer for this show. Though I’m not a smoker, this was the perfect backdrop for the band who carries on the rock tradition better than most.
Call it what you want, rock, metal, hard rock, it doesn’t matter. The guys put on a kick ass show that made me and the capacity crowd very happy. They played favorites like Go With the Flow, Millionaire, Make It Wit Chu, and Sick, Sick, Sick, which my wife quickly recognized along with others like Better Living Through Chemistry and Kalopsia. By the time the concert ended I was dazed and disgusted by how quickly they finished. Despite this, I didn’t go home with my head down. I got to see my faves! Fuckin’ finally. And when they come back through Chitown again, I’ll make sure to be one of the firsts in line.
